Raising funds for Palestinian prisoners rights

ORFA and Oxford PSC organised a powerful, well attended meeting on 12th November 2024 to hear about the widespread detention of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank.  The speakers were Sahar Francis, Director of Addameer, a Palestinian Prisoner Advocacy Group, (joining from Ramallah) and Professor Nick Maynard, Consultant Surgeon, recently returned from Gaza. 

We heard about the dire conditions, illegal actions and torture. The essential work of Addameer supports prisoners in the West Bank and from Gaza.  As well as supporting individual prisoners they are a powerful voice in collating information and sharing this information. 

A collection after the meeting raised £300 for Addameer. An ORFA appeal afterwards brought the total raised to £2,000.
